The Department of Biology (female section) held a workshop entitled: ‘Safety and Security Guidelines for Biological Laboratories’ on Tuesday, 17 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1442 A.H. The workshop was delivered by Her Excellency Dr. Fatimah bint Muhammad Al-Shihri, via WebEX. The themes of the workshop focused on the procedures which should be adopted in biological laboratories that mainly deal with living organisms and also safety procedures in microorganism, zoology, and botany laboratories. During the workshop, the students learned how to deal with chemicals while conducting experiments and how to deal with emergency cases which may occur in laboratories. The workshop included important basics which the students should be familiar with as well as important procedures which should be adopted to protect the students from infection or harm (Allah forbid).
