Abstract
This study aimed to identify the relationship between attachment patterns and social media use behaviors among adolescents. The study relied on a purposive sample of 385 high school students from the city of Makkah, aged between 16 and 19 years. The researchers used an Attachment Patterns Scale and a Social Media Use Behaviors Scale, both developed by the researchers. The results showed a moderate negative relationship between secure attachment and unhealthy social media use behaviors. In contrast, a moderate positive relationship was found between anxious–avoidant attachment and unhealthy social media use behaviors. The results also revealed a weak positive relationship between disorganized attachment and unhealthy social media use behaviors.
