Abstract
This research aims to explore the sources of urban planning writing in Andalusia to form a comprehensive understanding of authorship in urban planning writing in Andalusia and its contribution to the urban planning of Andalusian cities. It seeks to understand the evolution of urban planning in Islamic cities during that era, thereby contributing to a deeper under-standing of Andalusia's history, culture, and civilization. The research also focuses on study-ing the geographical aspects of the cities addressed by authors in their works, providing in-sight into the evolution of geographical and urban understanding of Andalusia across differ-ent epochs.The first section of the research follows books that discussed Andalusian plans and the his-tory of its cities chronologically, allowing for tracing the development of geographical and urban understanding of Andalusia over time. The second section concentrates on studying and evaluating the urban planning texts, whether complete or excerpted from major histor-ical and literary encyclopedias, revealing the methodologies used by authors in describing city plans.
