Abstract
This study aimed to assessment the extent to which the student camps of the Department of Sociology and Social Work at Qassim University achieved its objectives in light of the Human Capability Development Pro-gram - Saudi Vision 2030, to identify the obstacles hindering student benefit from the camp, and to propose mechanisms for improving the effectiveness of student camps in the future. This is an evaluative study that adopted a social survey methodology using a sample of students who participated in the camp, with a sample size of (57) students out of a total of (92) camp participants, representing 62% of the total population. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The results showed that the level of achieving the camp's objectives was moderate overall, with the development of students' future skills ranking highest among the achieved objec-tives, followed by the promotion of values and behaviors, and then the acquisition of specialized professional knowledge. The results also revealed a set of obstacles, the most prominent of which were: the lack of student participation in planning activities, the unsuitability of the camp's location and timing, and the shortage of re-sources and time allocated for practicing activities. Accordingly, the study recommended a number of pro-posed mechanisms for improvement, including: the necessity of providing necessary equipment, involving stu-dents in designing activities, and increasing the duration of the camp to maximize its benefit.
