Abstract
Al-Baha region is full of customs, traditions, and folk arts that were created by the nature of society, such as architecture, which is the memory of civilization.
The forts and residential structures in the area were built using techniques that were in keeping with the local social and environmental circumstances, including the long-standing Arab traditions and practices. The wide walls that are constructed from the rocky reservation, where the stones are stacked one on top of the other without the use of construction material to connect them, save for small stones, sticky mud, and dirt, can be found in the ancient villages that are dispersed throughout the area. The wall thickness varies between 60 and 70 cm. The ceilings are composed of parallel wooden veins covered in palm leaves and crowns that are sweetened with etched designs, some of which are made of quartz stones with geometric shapes. The crowns are then coated in a coating of mud. The solid wood doors are adorned with finely carved motifs and geometric patterns.
In order to promote tourism in this area, the researcher was motivated by the Al-Baha region's architecture, a collection of textile hangings that showcase the region's individuality.
