Abstract
The study aims to identify the size of the non-Saudi population, and to reveal their most important demographic and social characteristics. the study relied on the descriptive analytical approach to achieve its objectives by taking advantage of the results of population censuses. The study found that the concentration of the non-Saudi population in Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Qassim and Sharqiyah by 70٪ , and shows the dominance of middle-aged males on immigration to Saudi Arabia over the past five decades, and they were concentrated in primary professions and crafts by 80٪ . It is worth mentioning that 76٪ of the non-Saudi population came from Asia, and the study recommends the development of procedures and policies to control and rationalize the flow of expatriate workers, with the rationalization of domestic workers, whose numbers have increased significantly to reach more than 3 million workers. The study also recommends the development of policies to reduce remittances by non-Saudi residents by rethinking the value of the currency and finding investment opportunities for them, and this will contribute to reducing the volume of remittances.
