Abstract
descriptive field study in the Hail region. It focused on analyzing the content of more than 300 files from the “Wefaq” Center for Family Reform and the “Shamel” Center for the Care of Divorced Families, affiliated with the Family Welfare Association. This qualitative research used content and interview analysis tools, proceeding from the subject matter in Saudi Arabia, in the Arab world, and internationally, benefiting from some interna-tional experiences and the reality of the practice of mediation and reform in Saudi Arabia. The research concluded by stressing the importance of family intervention as a proactive, alternative and voluntary preventive methodology that gives an opportunity to couples living through difficult crises and intractable problems to overcome these crises, especially in the early stages which indi-cated that divorce is not an easy solution or a predetermined destiny, and that family intervention can succeed in many cases cir-cumstances. The research recommended institutionalizing family mediation and giving it the place it deserves in judicial and social policies.
