Abstract
: The Role of the Police Institution in Combating the spread of Drugs in the United Arab Emirates: Sharjah Police as a Model.
The study aims to identify the role of the Sharjah Police in combating the spread of drugs, and evaluate the mecha-nisms and initiatives on which it was based in the resistance, and the various obstacles it faces in achieving its goals. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach, and an electronic questionnaire was prepared that included three main axes, and was applied to a non-random sample of Sharjah policemen, amounting to 71 individuals who were chosen by the intentional method. The data of the field study was analyzed through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Among the most important results of the study: that the Sharjah Police seeks to plan for the future to avoid the factors of weakness in controlling drug dealers. Special mission teams also play a key role in dealing with drug traffickers and promoters. The study also showed that one of the most important obstacles facing Sharjah Police is the low level of awareness of how to deal with the drug problem by some members of the community.rocks, as well as in the stomachs and sides of streams and slopes, in addition to the areas of alluvial deposits in the middle and lower basin of the study area, and erosion is less in the volcanic areas.
