Motives of Enrollment the Students in Social Work Specialization at the Islamic University of Gaza

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the motivation of students to join the social work specialization at the Islamic University of Gaza. The study was conducted among all students of the social work department, totaling 103. The results revealed that the highest motivation for students to enroll in the social work specialization at the Islamic University in Gaza is personal motives, followed by professional motives, social motives, and finally academic motives. The study identified statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the motivation of students in the social work specialization at the Islamic University in Gaza attributed to the gender variable for male students, and the grade variable in high school, particularly for those with an acceptable grade. Additionally, the study indicated that there were no statistically significant differences at (α ≤ 0.05) in the motivation of students in the social work specialization at the Islamic University in Gaza attributed to the variables of social status and the type of certificate obtained in high school.
