Overview

This unit, affiliated with the University's Agency for Business Development and Community Partnerships, oversees the university's local and international partnerships. Its responsibilities include development, coordination, conducting studies and statistical analyses of these partnerships, and submitting periodic reports to the Vice President for Business Development and Community Partnerships for presentation to the University President.

Given the importance of Umm Al-Qura University, stemming from its prestigious location, which has garnered special attention and placed it at the forefront of development plans across all sectors, it is incumbent upon educational institutions to play an active role in building valuable relationships and integrating with various sectors to create shared value. Through its Local and International Partnerships Unit, Umm Al-Qura University leverages these strengths to identify opportunities that will enhance the university's standing, enrich its expertise, and improve its outcomes by achieving qualitative leaps in its strategic partnerships at the local, regional, and international levels. The Local and International Partnerships Unit bases its objectives on fundamental pillars that frame its work and outputs in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Kingdom's Vision 2030, Umm Al-Qura University's vision, mission, and strategic plan, the priorities and basic needs of colleges, institutes, and departments within Umm Al-Qura University and its branches, the standards of the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation, labor market requirements, the Saudi Qualifications Framework, and international university ranking standards.

Objectives:

1. To enhance research and innovation collaboration with distinguished universities and institutions locally and internationally.

2. To conclude and activate strategic agreements and partnerships that contribute to the development of joint academic programs.

3. To expand the network of international relations to support student and faculty exchange programs and academic capacity-building programs.

4. To develop monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure the sustainability of partnerships and achieve the targeted institutional impact.

5. To contribute to improving the university's international academic ranking through effective partnerships with leading global institutions.

Mission

The unit works to build and develop high-quality, sustainable partnerships with academic and research institutions, as well as governmental, private, and non-profit sectors, both locally and internationally. This aims to support education, innovation, scientific research, and the exchange of knowledge and expertise, in line with the university's objectives and strategic plan.

Vision

To be a leading and effective center for building distinguished strategic relationships that contribute to achieving academic and research excellence and enhance the university's regional and global standing.
