1- Educational and Psychological Science Research Center:

Inception:
The center was established in 1397H at the College of Education. After a Royal Decree was issued to establish Umm Al-Qura University in 1401H, the center was annexed to the Institute of Scientific Research and Revival of Islamic Heritage in 1406, and then to the Vice-Deanship of Scientific Research for Research Groups and Centers in 1436H.
Vision: To be pioneers in the field of educational and psychological research to promote the educational process at the Saudi educational institutions.
Mission: To finalize distinguished research and educational projects in line with UQU quality standards.
Objectives:
1. Accomplishing outstanding research projects to contribute to solving educational, psychological and social problems
2. Enhancing the educational level at UQU and other Saudi educational institutions by making use of outcome of research projects
3. Providing advice for various educational institutions with the aim of developing public and university education.
4. Organizing workshops, training programs and scientific symposia on educational research (in terms of their quality and quantity).
5. Promoting scientific research in the field of educational and psychological studies with the aim of meeting the needs of the university's employees and the Saudi community as well.
6. Going into partnerships with social institutions to conduct field research in all social, security, educational and psychological fields.
Outlook:
1. Developing new mechanisms to prepare teachers and teaching staff at public educational institutions and universities.
2. Using e-learning applications at educational institutions.
3. Strengthening national unity.
2- Applied Science Research Center:

Inception:
The center was established in 1404H at the Institute of Scientific Research and Revival of Islamic Heritage, and then it was annexed to the Vice-Deanship of Scientific Research for Research Groups and Centers in 1436H.
Vision: To turn the center into a reliable research body and main partner in the field of applied and scientific research and knowledge-based economy.
Mission: To encourage and motivate human cadres to conduct research on applied science, follow up implementation of such projects and liaise with centers and other beneficiaries on that score.
Objectives:
1. Creating and developing infrastructure of scientific research in the field of applied sciences, as well as promoting scientific research and meeting its requirements, and localizing modern technology.
2. Supporting scientific research in the field of applied sciences, and honing creativity and innovation skills of academic staff to be able to carry out researches that meet the community's needs.
Outlook:
1. Forming an advisory council, made up of experienced academics at the global and regional levels, to enhance the center's activities, and strengthening ties between the center and private and governmental institutions at the regional and international levels.
2. Organizing workshops to introduce the center's objectives and roles with the aim of attracting and motivating researchers.
3. Providing necessary logistics that serve the center's priorities and activities, and coordinating with centers of other deanships with regard to joint events.
4. Activating partnership with private and governmental bodies supporting the center (such as the Holy Makkah Municipality, SABIC Inc., etc.)
3- Arabic Language and Literature Research Institute:

Inception:
The center was established upon a decision by the UQU Supreme Council during its meeting held on Rabei Al-Thani 19th, 1407H (corresponding to December 31st, 1985). In 1436H, the center was annexed to the Vice-Deanship of Scientific Research for Research Groups and Centers.
Vision: To turn the center into a reference body for research into the Arab Language and its literature. 
Mission: To promote scientific research programs and projects in the field of Arab Languages, as well as its literature, purposes and objectives. 
Objectives:
1. Creating and developing the center’s scientific research infrastructure.
2. Honing research and creativity skills of the teaching staff, and motivating them to carry out qualitative researches.
3. Prioritizing scientific research projects in terms of time, place and speaking language.
Outlook:
1. Developing and opening new horizons for research into linguistic, literary and critical studies.
2. Translating some scientific resources in general, including humanitarian and experimental sciences, into Arabic.
3. Translating useful and necessary humanitarian and experimental sciences.
4. Motivating teaching staff to prepare a training package in the field of research and related areas.
5. Establishing a link between the center and beneficiaries.
4- Islamic Education Research Center:

Inception: 
The center was established in 1397H upon a recommendation issued by the International Conference on Islamic Education. On Safar 9th, 1402H (corresponding to December 6th, 1981), a Royal Decree was issued to incorporate the center into Umm Al-Qura University. In 1436H, the center was annexed to the Vice-Deanship of Scientific Research for Research Groups and Centers.
Vision: To be pioneers in the field of Islamic education research and application as derived from the Holy Quran, Sunnah and Islamic heritage. 
Mission: To compile and classify educational Islamic heritage, and discuss how it could be applied on the ground.
Objectives:
1. Conducting research and studies on the basics of compiling and composing Islamic education. 
2. Making use of Islamic heritage’s educational masterpieces.
3. Promoting scientific research in the field of Islamic education.
4. Reviewing and judging books and theses in the field of Islamic education.
Outlook:
Compiling and learning educational lessons from Islamic heritage, and making use of such lessons in the daily life.

5-    Islamic Studies Research Center:

 

Inception:

Vision: To turn the center into a reliable research body and main partner in the field of Islamic research.

Mission: To adopt and support Islamic research programs and projects as set out by the center’s research priorities to meet the community’s needs and the UQU strategy on that score.

Objectives: 
1.    Promoting Islamic qualitative research presented by individuals or groups to serve maintain Saudi intellectual security and moderation of Islam. 
2.    Overcoming challenges threatening the country’s cultural identity and finding legislation-based solutions.
Outlook:
1.    Holding courses, symposiums and educational seminars to contribute to spread the modern research culture among the teaching staff. 
2.    Providing useful research advice for researchers to meet the center’s research priorities.
3.    Going into partnership with internal and external partners and beneficiaries.
4.    Going into partnership with similar research centers in other universities, as well as research and study units at the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowment, Dawa and Guidance.
5.    Conducting at least 50 researches a year.
6-    Medical Science Research Center:
 

Inception: 
The center was established in 1422H. The center was annexed to the Vice-Deanship of Scientific Research for Research Groups and Centers in 1436H.
Vision: To staunchly support activities of developing, publishing and conducting medical research in a manner that contributes to providing high-level medical services for the Saudi community.

Mission: To staunchly support activities of creating and publishing distinctive and innovative medical research, and apply their outcome in a manner that contributes to developing healthcare provided for the Saudi community.

Objectives: 
1.    Supporting scientific and medical researches and studies at the local, regional and international levels.
2.    Publishing outcome of scientific researches, and organizing symposiums, conferences and workshops.
3.    Organizing specialized courses and training programs.
4.    Supporting teamwork in the field of scientific research. 
Outlook:
1.    Providing high-level medical services through studying effectiveness of drugs to be produced.
2.    Exchanging cooperation and expertise with Saudi and foreign educational institutions.
3.    Providing advisory, analytic and diagnostic services in the field of health science at the domestic and international levels.
7- Social Science Research Center:

Inception: 
The center was first established at the College of Social Science. The center was annexed into the Institute of Scientific Research and Revival of Islamic Heritage in 1406H, and to the Vice-Deanship of Scientific Research for Research Groups and Centers in 1436H.
Vision: To take the lead in the field of modern social and economic researches with the aim of promoting social and economic aspects of the Saudi community in light of the continuous developments at the domestic and international levels.
Mission: To meet the needs of the university and other Saudi educational institutions through applying research projects on the ground to contribute to achieving goals of the Saudi society.
Objectives: 
1. Carrying out useful research projects to contribute to solving educational, psychological and social problems.
2. Upgrading the educational level at UQU and other Saudi educational institutions through making use of research projects.
3. Providing advice for educational institutions to upgrade public and university education.
4. Organizing workshops, training programs and symposiums to spread the culture of scientific research.
5. Supporting scientific research in the field of social and economic studies to meet the needs of the Saudi and international communities in general, and UQU and its employees in particular.
6. Going into partnership with social institutions to conduct researches in the social, security and economic fields.
8- Pharmaceutical Science Research Center:

Inception: 
Since its establishment in 1430H, the center has been affiliated to the Institute of Scientific Research and Revival of Islamic Heritage. Then in 1436H, the center was annexed to the Vice-Deanship of Scientific Research for Research Groups and Centers.
Vision: To turn the center into a reference body in the field of pharmaceutical research at the domestic and regional levels through exchanging outcome of researches and offering solutions based on a systematic and developed mechanism of scientific research mechanism that meets requirements and aspirations of the current era. 
Mission: To offer creative solutions in the field of pharmacology and healthcare, provide information for beneficiaries, contribute to rendering high-quality health services to serve the comprehensive national development plan, create a scientific competitiveness-based environment, hone occupational and research skills of Saudi cadres, and provide training courses for students.
Objectives:
1. Providing pharmaceutical services and researches through adopting scientific research and linking it to teaching methods at universities
2. Promoting distinctive research programs, encouraging students to pursue graduate studies and providing necessary facilities for them
3. Offering pharmaceutical and healthcare services to pilgrims
4. Liaising with other academic departments to make a big research leap and serve applied and field research plan
Outlook:
1. Preparing an integrated lab equipped with the latest equipment to serve the center
2. Launching a raft of projects that could preserve the environment and maintain citizens’ health
3. Making optimal use of natural resources and flora available in Saudi Arabia
4. Rehabilitating human cadres to operate the center’s devices
5. Organizing workshops to introduce the center's objectives and roles with the aim of attracting and motivating researchers
6. Activating partnership with private and governmental bodies supporting the center
7. Conducting researches and offering statistical advice to help researchers working as teaching staff at the university to conduct researches in line with a proper scientific method
9- Architectural and Engineering Science Research Center:

Inception: 
The center was established in 1417H. Then in 1436H, the center was annexed to the Vice-Deanship of Scientific Research for Research Groups and Centers.
Vision: To take the lead at the domestic, regional and international levels in the field of architecture, engineering and computer sciences, as well as providing distinctive solutions and qualitative research programs that goes in harmony with the university’s plans and meets the needs of citizens.
Mission: To support and develop distinctive research and academic work in the fields of architecture, engineering and computer sciences through creating an attractive environment for researchers to help them solve national problems.
Objectives:
1. Carrying out researches and launching programs in the fields of architecture, engineering and computer sciences to serve the university and domestic, regional and international communities, as well as making suggestions on how to develop such sciences
2. Providing support for researchers and innovators to conduct scientific researches in the fields of engineering and computer sciences
3. Supporting and adopting outstanding scientific researches in the fields of engineering and technology to help researchers obtain patents and introduce new innovations
4. Supporting scientific researches in other domains, such as medicine, education and religion, to provide high-quality services for citizens, environment and communities
5. Cooperating with domestic, regional and international universities and research centers to solve problems related to engineering and computer sciences.

1. Establishing low-cost buildings
2. Setting up dams to make use of flood water
3. Taking advantage of new and renewable energy
4. Manufacturing tablets at low cost for students of pre-university education
5. Renovating ancient buildings
6. Establishing a center for computer sciences
