The department grants a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering after passing a program of study that covers the theoretical, technical, and applied aspects needed by engineers in the design and development of electronics and communication systems.
The curricula of this program deal with the different basic and engineering sciences, the methods of engineering design related to telecommunication systems, electronic design methods, as well as supplementary subjects in computer engineering, and fundamentals of electrical controls and powers. Besides the scientific content, the courses also focus on building the technical, intellectual and communication skills of the student.
The study plan of the department enables the student to focus easily during the graduation year on either communications or electronics, due to the variety of elective courses offered, in accordance with the requirements of the local labor market.
The graduates of this department shall, Allah willing, have a wide range of opportunities for work and employment in the telecommunications and electronics industry, which is witnessing great development and expansion. This includes telecommunication network operations, broadcasting and television institutions, satellite communication institutions, electronic manufacturing and assembly, the field of electronic measurements and remote sensing used in different industries, and the development of automation systems in production lines.
