Duties:
- Ensuring the implementation of the policies and plans of the college and the department in the field of occupational safety and security, in the buildings and facilities of the department, especially in laboratories and classrooms.
- Taking safety measures to preserve the buildings and personnel, and ensuring the application of safety conditions and rules to protect employees during the performance of work within the university.
- Ensuring that working companies and institutions comply with safety requirements.
- Following up the safety devices and fire extinguishers used in all buildings, facilities, and work sites in the department and ensuring their validity and safety; ensuring that they function properly and in accordance with safety requirements, and working on maintaining them, securing their spare parts, and upgrading them when needed.
- Observing and managing all safety operations of the department, working on averting accidents, and handling them when they take place, and coordinating with the Civil Defense in cases of fire and emergency - God forbid.
- Raising awareness of the employees of the department, training them in safety procedures, and instructing them on the means of prevention to be taken.
- Setting the necessary plans for emergency, evacuation, and rescue, in coordination with other departments of the college.
