Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers
Admission is granted once a year through the admission portal on the university’s homepage. You should open a file from the admission portal at the university website as a new user. You should fill in the required data. Then, you have to download the admission guide from the Deanship of Admissions and Registration site and abide by the deadlines for each stage. Applications are electronic and you do not have to visit the university.
Tuition is free. Housing is free for single students. Married students whose wives have scholarships and wish to live together can do so at their own expenses. A monthly cash allowance of 850 Saudi riyals is given to each student. A free round-trip ticket is given to regular students during summer vacation to visit their families. University books are free. Medical treatment is free at the University Medical Center or government hospitals. Teachers who are specialized in teaching Arabic to non-Arabs are provided. Language labs to help students understand the Arabic Language are provided. There is a teaching aids department. There is a scientific library specialized in teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers. Meals are offered at nominal prices for students at the university restaurants.
There are internal scholarships for non-Saudi students who have a regular residence permit. The following steps should be followed: personal data should be registered, and an application should be submitted through the unified admissions portal. Priority is given according to the weighted ratio. The names are then sent to the Ministry of Education. Names of admitted students will be published on the Deanship of Admissions and Registration website to complete the admission procedures.
Students who get an excellent degree without failure during their study of the Arabic language can complete their study at one of the university colleges to gain a bachelor's degree in one of the following specializations: Arabic Language, Islamic Law, Da`wah, or Principles of Religion.
There are two departments at the institute: Arabic Language Teaching – The Preparation of Teachers
1- Confirming the student's personal data at the electronic service portal exactly as they are in his passport before the end of the semester. 2- Final electronic clearance should be made from the student's page. This final clearance should be signed by all parties before being printed. 3- The university card and the final clearance should be submitted to the graduation department or to the stated place for submitting documents.
1- The first honors degree is awarded to students whose grade point average is equal or more than 3.75 at the time of graduation. 2- The second honors degree is awarded to students whose grade point average ranges from 3.25 to less than 3.75 from 400 at the time of graduation. The following conditions should also be fulfilled: A- The student must not have failed any curriculum at the university or at the university wherefrom he transferred. B- The student must complete the graduation requirements in a maximum time span equal to the average between the minimum and the maximum time of study at his college. C- Students must have studied at least 60% of the graduation requirements at the university from which they will graduate.
A- Counting the points of every curriculum: points of the curriculum = quality points of the curriculum * number of its units. B- Counting the semester average: semester average = total points of semester curriculum ÷ total units of semester curriculums. C- Counting the grade point average: grade point average = total points of all curriculums ÷ total units of all curriculums.
