UQU Medical Center, in collaboration with Makkah Health Affairs, represented in the Anti-infection Health Facilities Management held on Monday 18/07/1437 H a workshop at the Medical Center of Azizeya Campus for health facilities infection combatting.
Continued Medical Education and Training Supervisor, Dr. Rahma Al-Zahrani stated that a team from Health Facilities Infection Combatting Management, headed by Anti-infection Health Facilities Management Vice-President, Dr. Mohammed Malibari, and the Dental Clinic Anti-infection and Sterilization Coordinator in Makkah Health Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Turkestani, discussed the work mechanism and sterilization at the dental section of UQU Medical Center, for the sake of applying the latest best practice policies and procedures, that are in line with the Saudi Council for Accreditation of Health Facilities policies.
On the other hand, the Head of the Dental Department at the Medical Center, Dr. Ayman Kadmani revealed that the workshop was meant for the health practitioners in dental clinics. It dealt with explaining the methods and means of hand washing and the right order of the health practitioner’s putting on protective gear to protect them from infections. It also gave detailed explanation – using teaching aids – of the latest methods of sterilization and preventing infection, as well as the right steps of sterilizing contaminated tools and how to break the cycle of infection from and to the patient, in addition to the introduction of the latest methods of checking the correctness and soundness of sterilization and discovering any defects in the sterilization cycle if it happens and how to treat this defect.
On the other hand, the Head of UQU Medical Center, Dr. Yasser bin Hassan Bahakim clarified that holding such workshops is part of the continuous cooperation and coordination between UQU Medical Center and Makkah Health Affairs. Dr. Bahakim expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Anti-infection Health Facilities Management, Makkah Health Affairs, for this fruitful cooperation that helps to improve the performance of the Medical Center’s health practitioners as regards combatting infection, the aim of which is to protect the health practitioners and supervisors in particular and the community in general from infection. He commended the care and support UQU Medical Center receives from UQU President Dr. Bakri Bin Maatouq Assas and the continuous coaching and follow up of UQU Vice-President Dr. Yasser Bin Sulaiman Shoushou, so as to improve performance and realize the satisfaction of those who benefit from the medical and protective services offered by UQU Medical Center, for all UQU staff and who qualify for treatment at the Center.
