The Institute of Innovation and the Department of Talented Students Discuss Cooperation to Nurture and Develop Students’ Innovative Ideas

The Dean of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Muwaffaq Urijah, discussed cooperation with the contest and talent supervisors in the Department of Talented Students in the General Directorate of Education in Makkah in the matter of training general education students in the university’s fabrication and modeling laboratories as well as adopting their ideas and developing them into a tangible reality.

In this framework, Dr. Urijah met with the supervisor of the contest and talent competitions in the Department of Talented Students in the General Directorate of Education in Makkah, Dr. Muhammad Al-Shamarani, and the Assistant Director of the Talented Center in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Coordinator of the “Ebadaa [Innovation]” competition, Mr. Abdullah Asiri, to develop an executive plan to prepare male and female students to participate in the National Olympiad for Scientific Innovation in its next edition, 2022.

The supervisors valued the cooperation of the university and its pioneering academic staff members for their active role within the work committees of the National Olympiad for Scientific Innovation in its last edition (2021). They stressed their keenness to continue the partnership with Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, to support and accelerate the entrepreneurial projects of the talented students.

The dean of the institute accompanied the delegation during their visit of the Fabrication and Modeling Laboratory, where a comprehensive presentation was given on the technical capabilities that facilitate the prototypes of student projects, the education and training programs, as well as the business accelerators. Finally, the delegation inspected the institute’s facilities to learn about the available capabilities.
