President of Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas will launch the 32nd Meeting of the Saudi Biological Society in collaboration with Prince Sultan Chair for Environment and Wildlife organized by the College of Applied Sciences under slogan: "Human and Environmental Development in the Kingdom Vision 2030", from Rajab 21 to 23, 1438 H at Holiday Inn Hotel in Azizia district, Makkah. While the inauguration ceremony will take place at King Abdul-Aziz Historical hall at the university campus in Abdiya coming Tuesday after Maghrib Prayers.
Meanwhile, Dean of Applied Sciences College Dr. Waleed bin Jameel Altaf said the meeting comes to highlight role of human and environmental development in the Kingdom Vision 2030 and to discuss significance of such role and its means of development in addition to introducing the role of the university and the association in this regard besides reviewing recent developments in scientific research in the universities and relevant institutions in biological sciences as general and ways of developing scientific research in this fields.
He added the meeting will kick off next Thursday evening at King Abdul-Aziz Historical Hall at the University campus in Abdiya, while the workshops and scientific sessions of the conference will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Holiday Inn Hotel in Azizia to discuss 260 scientific papers in 11 sessions and workshops concerned with human and development in the Kingdom Vision 2030, environment, biodiversity, animal sciences, veterinary medicine and animal production, plant sciences, microbiology and plant protection, in addition to topics of water and soil Sciences and environmental pollution, food sciences and biotechnology and biochemistry and pharmacy.
Concluding, Dr. Altaf lauded sponsorship provided by UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq Assas for all the activities and events of the college, praising the efforts of committees working for the success of this meeting which comes in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030 regarding human and environmental development theme.
