The Department of Physical Education congratulates the PhD scholarship student, the lecturer Za'id bin Muhammad Al-Tuwairqi, for obtaining a Certificate of Excellence from the Saudi Cultural Bureau in Malaysia in recognition of his academic and research excellence. Al-Tuwairqi received an excellent grade during the past three semesters and published 10 research papers in international refereed journals: 7 in Scopus and 3 in Web of Science.
It is worth noting that these papers are part of a doctoral thesis which aims to study the effect of quitting sports on former players. This paper is the first of its type in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, and the Arab countries. It discusses the health of former players after they stop participating in athletic competitions and sports.
