Dr. Hadeel Jamal Azhar presented a paper on Friday March 12, 2021, entitled “A Music of Her Own: The Power of Music in Dollie Radford’s Songs and Other Verses” in the
3rd International Conference on Research in Humanities which was hosted at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom (11-14 March).
The paper explores Dollie Radford’s depiction of music in her second volume of poetry, Songs and Other Verses (1895), which engages with increasing arguments about the subversive meaning of the figure of music in Victorian literature and culture.
