On Thursday 24/06/1438 H, UQU College of Applied Medical Sciences held an event titled “World Health Day” at Hejaz Mall, Makkah. The event aims to employ educational tools to spread health awareness among community, especially with regard to a number of widespread diseases, their causes, spread factors, and prevention.
The distinct event drew a large number of neighborhood residents and witnessed significant engagement. The opening ceremony was attended by Vice-dean of Academic Development and Community Service DR. Mohamed Al-Karbi, Vice-dean of Hospitals Affairs Dr. Maher Andijani on behalf of Dean of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Ashi, and a number of faculty members.
Such events should be held frequently to satisfy the community’s constant need of awareness, especially with presence of serious chronic diseases that some may catch if they are not aware of them. Therefore, the media makes sure to cover such events for the good of community.
