Under the direction of the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, and the direct supervision of Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, UQU Vice-President for Academic Development and Community Service, the UQU Quality and Academic Accreditation Group paid an external assessment review visit to Batterjee Medical College on Sunday, 20th Jumada II 1438H.
The aim of the visit was to determine the quality of the programs offered by the College and the extent to which it met the academic accreditation standards of the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment, and to give advice on aspects that required the attention of the College to become academically accredited.
The Group was headed by Dr. Muhammad Jaafar Thabet, Dean of University Development and Quality. It also included UQU experts of quality and academic accreditation.
Dr. Thabet said that such visit came within the framework of cooperation among national universities to benefit from the experiences of universities that previously obtained the academic accreditation. He added that it was at the invitation of Dr. Osama Kinsara, Dean of Batterjee Medical College.
In the same context, Dr. Thabet added that the UQU Quality and Academic Accreditation Group acquired a lot of experience in the standards of the Academic Accreditation locally and internationally. This was through its follow-up to the functions of the Institutional Accreditation at the university, and supervision of the accreditation of 27 programs that were all internationally accredited from different accreditation bodies around the world.
