President of Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas honored on Sunday Jumada Al-Thani 20, 1438 H at his office in Abdyia campus students involved in Youth Leadership Development Program organized by Deanship of Students Affairs in collaboration with youth leadership community under sponsorship of Makkiyoon Urban Developers Company. Present in the meeting were UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Sorouji, Dean of Students Affairs Dr. Taha bin Amro Al-Saggaf, Vice Dean of Students Affairs for Students Activities Dr. Omer Sonbol as well as the Executive Director of Makkiyoon Company Dr. Magdi Hariri and the Founder of Youth Leadership Community Dr. Hassan Al-Ghamdi.
At the commencement of the meeting, Dean of Students Affairs Dr. Amro Al-Saggaf expressed his thanks and appreciation to UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas for his honorable attendance and unlimited support provided foe all programs and activities organized by Deanship of Students Affairs as general and this program in particular. He also extended his thanks to Makkiyoon Company and the Youth Leadership Community for this initiative that benefited community of students' clubs. " Such programs contribute to qualifying youth leadership, hone their talents and sharpen their leadership skills to be future leaders", he expounded.
For his part, UQU Vice President for Education Affairs, Dr. Al-Sorouji extended his thanks to UQU President for his unlimited support and for sponsoring such programs. He also appreciated support and concern of Makkiyoon company and Youth Leadership Community for benefiting our students, boosting leadership characteristics amongst them and qualifying them in accordance with the international programs.
Within the same vein, the Executive Director of Makkiyoon Company, Dr. Hariri said the program idea emanates from the community role sought by the company in building individual, developing place, best investment in human cadres and qualifying them properly to help in constructing this nation. He extended his thanks to UQU President, UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dean of Students Affairs and Vice Deans of Students Affairs for adopting and organizing this program.
After that, UQU President delivered address in which he referred to the importance of such programs and participation of the private sectors and parties with the university to serve male and female sons of this country by qualifying them and honing their skills and ideas to be good examples to be followed by their collogues. He extended his thanks to UQU Vice President Dr. Al-Sorouji, Dean of Students Affairs Dr. Al-Saggaf and taskforce of the deanship and to Makkiyoon company for sponsoring such program.
He was followed by the founder of youth leadership community Dr. Hassan Al-Ghamdi who explained the idea of the program represented in three themes including; cognitive, life and graduation project parts adding 10 students involved in the program that lasted for eight weeks and included workshops, leadership tutorials and various projects in the fields of health, leadership and community awareness. Then the UQU President handed out certificates for the participants in the program.
