UQU and the Healthcare Cluster in Makkah Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Develop Health Care

Umm Al-Qura University and the Makkah Healthcare Cluster concluded a memorandum of understanding to develop the healthcare provided to the community, improve the service for the pilgrims, and raise the efficiency of health practitioners, according to the academic standards approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in the fields of training, education and research.

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, signed the memorandum today at his office along with the CEO of Makkah Healthcare Cluster, Dr. Dalshad Abbas. This took place in the presence of His Excellency the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Healthcare Cluster in Makkah, Dr. Adnan Al-Mazru`, the UQU Vice President, Dr. Farid Al-Ghamdi, the Supervisor of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Babalghaith, and the Dean of the College of Nursing, Dr. Fatimah Al-Sulami.

The University President expressed his appreciation for the support that the wise leadership (may Allah support it) gives to the educational system and its infrastructure. Additionally, he emphasized the support and care of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Aal Al-Sheikh, and the Deputy Minister for Universities, Research and Innovation, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sudairi. He underlined that the university’s partnership with the Makkah Healthcare Cluster of Makkah comes within the scope of its social responsibility towards serving Hajj, Umrah, and the community.

On his part, Dr. Adnan Al-Mazru` confirmed the keenness of the Makkah Healthcare Cluster to sign this agreement with Umm Al-Qura University because of the university's distinguished quality programs that can elevate the health work system. The impact of this cooperation will reflect positively on the rehabilitation of health practitioners, and fulfill the aim of developing the services provided to the pilgrims of the Most Merciful and the Makkan community.

On her part, Dr. Fatimah Al-Sulami said that the cooperation agreed upon in this memorandum relates to the educational, training and research fields, as well as the services of health practitioners. Moreover, the cooperation involves the strategies of building capacities and standards; establishing and exchanging medical, technical and administrative expertise; and preparing action plans with measurable strategies and goals. This is in addition to cooperation in the provision of volunteer work and community service.
