The Public Relations and Media Committee of the Social Sciences College of the Umm Al-Qura University held a ceremony on Tuesday 16-6-1438H to honor members of the teaching staff who authored scientific books.

The ceremony was held at the college’s meeting hall under the auspices of Dean of the College Dr Mohamed Basaqr.

The event was attended by Deputy-Dean for Postgraduate Studies Dr Adnan al-Maghamsi, Head of the Public Relations Committee Mr Hatem Khemi and the college deputy-deans, department heads, members of the teaching staff and affiliates of the college.

At the start of the meeting, Deputy-Dean for Postgraduate Studies Dr Adnan al-Maghamsi delivered an address in which he welcomed the participants. He underlined the importance of the ceremony in serving the education and academic process, going on to hail the role of the college’s Public Relations Committee in organizing the event. He extended thanks to the teaching staff members who authored books for their scientific efforts.

Meanwhile, Deputy-Dean of the College Ibtesam al-Istanbuli gave an address via a circuit television in which she hailed the great role played by the Deanship of the College in supporting and encouraging the teaching staff to pursue efforts for publishing their scientific production.

Dr Ali Abul Reish gave an address on behalf of the honored members of the teaching staff in which he thanked the Dean of the Social Studies College and the Public Relations and Media Committee for organizing the ceremony and honoring members of the teaching staff.

The meeting was concluded with honoring members of the teaching staff. Deputy-Dean of the College Dr Khalid al-Sherif was honored for his promotion to a professor. Deputy-Dean for Education Affairs Dr Khaled al-Ghamedi was honored for his promotion to a co-professor by Deputy-Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr Adnan al-Harbi and Head of the Public Relations and Media Committee Mr Hatem Khemi. Meanwhile, Dr Ibtesam al-Istanbuli honored female members of the teaching staff.

The meeting was concluded with a speech by Mr Hatem Khemi in which he thanked the dean and deputy-deans of the college for their support to the Public Relations Committee. He also congratulated the honored members of the teaching staff.
