UQU and Makkah Health Affairs Directorate Discuss Taking Advantage of the Holy Sites Hospitals

The President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, and the Director General of Health Affairs in Makkah Region, Dr. Wael bin Hamzah Mutair, discussed cooperation in taking advantage of one of the holy sites hospitals outside the Hajj period. This step will result in enabling students of the college of medicine and other health colleges to take advantage of such an important facility, in addition to the benefit which the community will reap from operating this hospital.

The two sides agreed, in the meeting that took place in Mina Al-Jisr Hospital today, to form practical committees to select the most appropriate facility in the holy sites, with the objectives of serving the Makkan community and benefiting the students through the training process in the hospital.

Meanwhile, Prof. Aal Madh-hab stressed the keenness of the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Aal Al-Sheikh, regarding this issue, and explained that the university possesses all the basic means capable of managing a university educational hospital. He then praised the constant keenness of the Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate of Health Affairs in the Makkah Province, to cooperate with the university.

On his part, Dr. Mutair welcomed the cooperation with the university. Moreover, he reviewed a number of facilities of the hospitals in the holy sites as well as the nursing preparations, intensive care units, operations, emergencies and clinics they contained.

The meeting was attended by the Supervisor of the Activities of the UQU Vice Presidency for Branches and Project Management, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hazimi, the Supervisor of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Babalghaith, the Acting Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Ayman Muminah, the Assistant Director of the General Health Affairs in Makkah Region for Public Health Affairs, Dr. Sirri Asiri, and a number of academic staff members in the College of Medicine.
