The parties involved in organizing the 12th International Conference on Islamic Economics and Finance held their first coordinative meeting led by the Dean of the College of Islamic Economics and Finance Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Agla. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) including; the Head of Research and Training Institute Prof. Azmi Omer, some members of the institute, and the representatives of the College of Islamic Economics and Finance including; the vice deans, heads of the departments and members of the teaching staff.
The meeting discussed main topics related to the conference organization including its subject and themes. "Topic of this session must be essential for the progress of the Islamic economy to start rolling it out as a global system alternative to all current systems", the meeting agreed. The meeting also discussed formation of the supervisory, scientific and organizing committee to be shared amongst the three organizing parties including; the College of Islamic Economics and Finance (CIEF), Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the International Association of Islamic Economics (IAIE) under the leadership of the College of Islamic Economics and Finance.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed some financial and physical issues related to the tasks of the organizing parties, and the issues of the sponsorship and financial support provided by Institute of Islamic Research and Training of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to be divided between the conference organization and the symposium accompanying the conference events.
