College of Applied Medical Sciences Dean Dr. Ahmed ibn Mohamed Ashshi and Hera General Hospital Director Dr. Waleed Husain inaugurated on Thursday 10/6/1438H the proceedings and exhibition of Nutrition Day worldwide at Hera General Hospital.
The exhibition featured the role of nutrition specialist in the case of malnutrition, nutrition at the department of surgery, feeding tubes, functional nutrition supplements, weight loss products and equipment, the food pyramid, pregnant and breastfeeding nutrition, child nutrition and nutrition evaluation.
There were also lectures on the basics and role of clinical nutrition specialist in hospitals.
The exhibition was organized with the support of Dr. Haifaa Hijazi, the head of Department of Clinical Nutrition, and Samira Samir Al-Jibali, the head of nutrition department at Hera General Hospital.
Presentations were made by students and graduates of the Department of Clinical Nutrition at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU).
The event was honored with the attendance of College of Applied Medical Sciences Vice-Dean Dr. Maher Alandijani and Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ayman Al-Sayegh.
The training team for the female students was joined by Dr. Islam Ahmed Mahmoud Haider, Dr. Siham EL-Sayed Qutub Zahran, Dr. Doaa Raafat Nagm and Dr. Hanein Youssef Wazzan.
Dr. Naser Ahmed El-Sawi of the Laboratory Medicine Department also attended.
The event was part of the activities organized by the Department of Clinical Nutrition during the 1437/1438H academic year.
