On behalf of Makkah Emir, His Highness the Assistant Undersecretary of Makkah Emirate for Rights Prince Faisal bin Mohamed bin Saad sponsored Thursday Jumada Al-Thani 10, 1438 H the graduation ceremony of the 65th batch of Umm Al-Qura university for its students in Makkah, Jamoum, Al-Lith, Al-Qunfudhah and Adhm amounting to 7204 students in all scientific and theoretical fields from the holders of diplomas, BA, MSc and PhD. The ceremony will be attended by President of UQU Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas, Vice Presidents, College Deans, parents of the students and a number of officials
After initiating the ceremony with a Quranic recitation, President of UQU delivered address in which he welcomed the Assistant Undersecretary of Makkah Emirate for Rights, parents of the students and the attendees. He extended his thanks and appreciation to Prince Faisal for sponsoring graduation ceremony of the students for academic year 1437/1438 H. "Such sponsorship reflects keenness and attention paid by our wise government led by the Custodian of the Two holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown prince to support science and education march and to share students their delight and pleasure in their graduation day after being equipped with knowledge and science", he expounded congratulating graduate students on this occasion which will mark their memories forever. He underscored that the happiness of the university and its affiliates in this blessed day is no less than that of the graduate students.
He went on to add that the celebration organized by the university for its graduate students is part of its mission to qualify national cadres to participate in building their nation and developing their community. He lauded the support provided by the wise leadership in this regard for the knowledge and its seekers citing the qualitative leap witnessed at all levels of university education in this prosperous era.
All the more, Dr. Assas referred to the university's role and its contribution to achieving the objectives of the Kingdom vision 2030 by attaching more concern to the promising human element represented in the Saudi male and female youth who are the bedrock of this ambitious vision. He lauded support and encouragement provided by the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, to the university march and programs, and the close follow-up and support of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Iesa to upgrade the university outcomes. He advised students to exert more effort and to uphold values of tolerance and determination to upgrade their nation wishing them all success in their future endeavors.
Concluding his speech, he prayed Allah to perpetuate for this country its security, stability and prosperity under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince.
After that the graduates march was launched to be followed by the speech of the Dean of Students Affairs Dr. Amro bin Taha Al-Saggaf in which he lauded the attention given and still to science and education in this blessed country since the reign of the late founder King Abdul-Aziz up to current preposterous reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his Heir apparent and the Deputy Crown Prince. He dubbed the current graduated students as an extension of the successive evolution witnessed by the education and the generous sponsorship provided for students one generation after another after receiving all types of sciences and knowledge in this university and gaining practical experiences and skills to join development system in this country in line with a promising future vision under the leadership of a wise leadership who aimed at building this country with the arms of its sons and provided them with all means of education to undertake their responsibilities in this regard. He then congratulated the graduate students and their parents on this occasion and extended his thanks and appreciation to the sponsor of this celebration and to the president of UQU for his support and permanent encouragement provided for the educational march at the university. He also praised all those who have contributed to the graduation of this batch with their knowledge, time and effort.
Within the program of the celebration a visual presentation titled" university student" was displayed and followed by the speech of the graduates delivered by student Abdullah Attas who extended thanks and appreciation to the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal for sponsoring this ceremony, and to the honorable attendance of the Assistant Undersecretary of Makkah Emirate for Rights Prince Faisal bin Mohamed bin Saad on behalf of the Emir of Makkah to honor them and share them their delight and pleasure. In their speech, students expressed their happiness for the knowledge they have received and extended thanks and appreciation to all those who have contributed to their success in the university education.
Within the same vein, the Dean of Admission and Registration Dr. Hashim Al-Samadani announced the total number of the graduate students amounting to 7204 students including; 6222 from the bachelor level, 696 from the diploma level, 239 from the MSc level and 47 from the PhD level.
After that the graduates from the medical colleges performed the graduation pledge.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Assistant Undersecretary of Makkah Emirate for Rights Prince Faisal bin Mohamed bin Saad received a memorial gift on this occasion from the UQU President who has also received a similar gift from the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs.
