A meeting was held on Wednesday, Jumada al-Thani 09, 1438H by the committee assigned to organize a ceremony of honorary doctorate degree granting to incumbent Saudi Ambassador to France and Former Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Alangari.
The committee, chaired by President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas, discussed preparation and plans adopted for the ceremony.
The meeting was attended by Vice President the University Dr. Yasser bin Sulleiman Shosho, chair of conference and event center Dr. Abdulrhamn Maghrabi, Dean of the College of Education Ali Al Matrafi, Dr. Meraj Mirza, Dr. Ramzi Al Zahrani, Dr. Assas' Advisor Mr. Essam bin Hassan Margoushi, and Head of the Public Affairs Department Mr. Khaled Jamel Morsi.
During the meeting, they discussed the visual identity design of the ceremony, a gift to be president with the certificate, a documentary, preparations and the list of invitees.
President of the University urged the committee members to spare no efforts to perfectly organize the ceremony. He praised His Royal Highness' decision to approve the grant and his support given to the former minister who played a key role in development of higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The President said Dr. Alangari has served the Saudi education for two decades and maintained progress in many fields including the postgraduate studies, research and innovations.
Dr. Assas said the grant's decision was put up for discussion during the UQU 3rd board meeting for the year 1437/1438H which was held at King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Hall in Al-Abdiyah.
The decision received unanimous support from the board members, Dr. Assas said, adding the former minister would be decorated during a ceremony slated for 27th this month at King Abdulaziz Hall in Al-Abdiyah.
