Delegation from Islamic University of Madinah Visits Wadi Makkah




A delegation from the Islamic University of Madinah (IU) paid a visit on Monday, Jumada al-Thani 07, 1438H to the Startups Center in Wadi Makkah Company. The delegation was led by Advisor to the IU President Dr. Mohamed Addas and Head of Computer Department Dr. Turki Al Ghamedi.

They arrived to get acquainted with the experience of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) in the field of entrepreneurship and knowledge economy represented by Vice-presidency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

They were received by Vice-President for Business & Innovation Dr. Hani Ghazi, Executive Manager of Wadi Makkah Company Dr. Faisal Allaf, Dean of the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies Dr. Ali Al Shaeri, Dean of Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Dr. Wadih Barqawi and Head of the Public Relations and Media Department in Wadi Makkah Dr. Majed Abdullah.

The delegation started the visit with a tour at the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies and the Headquarters of Wadi Makkah's Startups Center.

During the tour, they reviewed the commercial transformation of researches and innovations at UQU and Wadi Makkah. Also, they looked over the startups and their success stories to outreach domestic and foreign markets by luring investments from inside and outside the kingdom on way to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030.

The visitors voiced admiration for what they have seen. They hailed efforts exerted by UQU and Wadi Makkah to lead the knowledge economy by transforming researches and innovations into real startup companies.

In the same context, Dr. Ghazi said the delegation's visit mirrors success of Umm Al-Qura efforts. He stressed the university is open for everyone who tries to benefit from experience.

He extended thanks to President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) and Chairman of Wadi Makkah Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas for his endless support.
