The Department of Mathematics, on Thursday, 21 Safar, 1442 A.H., corresponding to 8 October, 2020 A.C., at 9:00 p.m., held a workshop entitled, "Introduction to MATLAB". The workshop was held for two hours via the WebEx platform provided by the Deanship of E-Learning at Umm Al-Qura University.

The workshop was presented by Ms. Sarah Babaker and was attended by a number of academic staff members, a group of female students of the Department of Mathematics, and a number of the department's graduates. The presenter introduced MATLAB, its importance, and how to use it to solve some mathematical problems that include variables, vectors, matrices, polynomials, and functions.

The students actively participated in answering the questions raised during the workshop. The workshop won the participants’ satisfaction and proved useful in enabling the students to acquire new mathematical skills.
