UQU Vice Presidency for Female Student Affairs Receives the National Day with the Initiative: ‘My Country: Love, Culture, and Loyalty’

Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the UQU Vice Presidency for Female Student Affairs, today, Sunday, 3 Safar, 1442 A.H., launched an initiative entitled: ‘My Country: Love, Culture, and Loyalty’, via a virtual (video) conference, in conjunction with the celebrations of the 90th Saudi National Day. The activities of the initiative will continue until Monday, 11 Safar, 1442 A.H., under the auspices of Her Excellency the Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khouli.

Dr. Sarah Al-Khouli stated that the activities of the initiative aim to translate the values ​​of loyalty and a sense of belonging to our beloved homeland to practical actions and integrated efforts among the different sectors of the university system in the female section. This is by consolidating national concepts, and edifying the university and local community on the lauded achievements of the Founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (may Allah bestow His mercy on him), and the procession of growth and contributions led by his sons and successors. These achievements and contributions ushered the country into a new era of progress and prosperity that is tailored to support the youth of our country, being its real assets who will achieve the desired development objectives.

Her Excellency the Vice President for Female Student Affairs drew attention to the diversity of the means of activating the initiative through various social media. She also highlighted that many technical capabilities were harnessed to embody the national cohesion in the historical, social, health, literary, media and educational fields, in addition to the research, advisory and technical streams, and many fields of volunteering and student support.

The initiative program includes a dialogue session on the university's efforts in light of facing the repercussions of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and a cultural symposium discussing the practical steps to activate national loyalty and pride in the cultural and historical heritage, and also consolidate values of citizenship. Moreover, the UQU Vice Presidency has organized a national poetry evening for the university's female literary scholars to celebrate this occasion, and has launched a competition about female figures in various fields who were Saudi female pioneers. This is in addition to creating a national mural painting that depicts feelings of love, perpetuates the pride and appreciation for the nation's accomplishments, and consolidates the values of obedience and loyalty to its wise leadership.
