The Head of Information Technology Department at the College of Computers in Al-Leith, Dr. Marwan Al-Bahar, detected security vulnerability in the technical system of Harvard University threatening the privacy of those registered in the university website.

In this regard, Dr. Marwan explained that the vulnerability detection underwent several stages, which started with bypassing the university's firewall and then injecting malware into the computer of the victim to steal users' data. After that, he submitted a report to the Harvard University Administration, who praised him and presented him with certificates of thanks and appreciation for his role in protecting the data of their university and its affiliates.

Dr. Marwan said that the College of Computers in Al-Leith endeavors to carry out its strategic plans in the coming years to become one of the specialized scientific centers in the science of cyber security. This will take place, he added, by detecting vulnerabilities and providing necessary solutions for institutions in the public and private sectors as well as international organizations. This is in addition to qualifying the college students in detecting vulnerabilities and remedying them, under the follow-up and supervision of the academic staff members in the college.
