UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas signed on Monday Jumada Al-Oula 23, 1438 H two contracts for the operation and maintenance of the university facilities at the university branches in Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Lith and Adhm and the maintenance and cooling of the university buildings at the university headquarters in Makkah with two specialized national companies including Stars Positions Company and  Maintenance A/C Refrigeration Co. Ltd. (MARCO). The contracts signing ceremony took place at his office in the university campus at Abdyia in the presence of the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou, UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi, Supervisor of Maintenance and Operation Department Eng. Abdul-Mohasin Al-Ahmadi,  the Advisor to the UQU President, and Supervisor General of his office, Mr. Essam bin Hassan Margooshi, the Head of Purchasing and Bidding Department, Mr. Saeed bin Rizqullah Al-Salami and the representatives of the companies.  

After signing the two contracts, the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas said that these contracts come within the  attention paid to UQU by our wise leadership to support the university march in undertaking its scientific, educational and research role at the university headquarters in Makkah and its branches in Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Lith and Adhm. He lauded the noble support attached to Umm Al-Qura University  by the leader of our blessed march, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince and the close follow-up of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Emir of Makkah Prince Khalid Al-Faisal in addition to the close attention paid to the university by the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Iesa to upgrade services at this scientific edifice. 

On his part, the UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou said signing of those two contracts by the President comes within the concern the university receives from the rulers to upgrade the university and its outcomes, provide stimulating environment for the male and female students and encourage them to continue their university education at the university HQs for males and females in Makkah and its branches in Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Lith and Adhm. He lauded the efforts exerted by the UQU President and his lasting keenness to provide means of comfort for the affiliates of the university. He added that the contract of maintenance and cooling of the  university buildings will last for 36 months and includes maintenance works for air conditioners and cooling devices of the university facilities.

Within the same vein, the UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi said the maintenance and operation contract of the university buildings at Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Lith and Adhm Provinces will last for three years. He lauded the keenness and attention paid by the UQU President to the maintenance and operation of the university facilities at the university branches.
