Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Media Center Department, honored the winning students in the competition organized in conjunction with the World Youth Skills Day under the slogan: “Your Skill is your Future!” The university aimed at giving the male and female students the opportunity to participate in such international events to show their capabilities, hone their talents, and achieve excellence in their fields of specialization.

The competition awards offered by the Deanship of Student Affairs via the Twitter platform were given to five students out of 103 participations. The participants highlighted their skills and innovations in artistic forms, including: writing and diction, photography, video industry, static and animated designs, and the art of drawing.

The competition was set to highlight UQU students' talents and their capabilities, and to motivate them to show their creative skills and invest their time well. The competition also aimed to provide them with the suitable work environment to hone their skills, build their artistic works, and support them to enter the labor market.

It is to be mentioned here that this year UNESCO launched the Global Skills Academy to provide job opportunities for one million young persons, believing in the importance of developing skills and enabling the youth to join the labor market in light of the economic recession that has hit the world as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
