Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Postgraduate Studies Unit (Aali), on Tuesday, 16 Dhul-Qi`dah, 1442 A.H., will launch its paid postgraduate study programs for the academic year 1442 A.H. These postgraduate programs include more than 100 specialized academic programs: diploma, master's, and doctoral degrees.
The Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Saeed, stated that the applicants have been exempted from the requirement of the General Aptitude Test, in line with the Saudi Kingdom’s efforts to alleviate the repercussions of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and that some special conditions have been eased for some programs. He also stated that admission procedures will be carried out remotely, requiring no presence of the applicants at the university headquarters.
Moreover, Dr. Al-Saeed said that this year more than 20 new programs have been added with qualitative specializations that match the labor market. These include a master’s degree in crowd management, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East. It gains its importance from the kingdom's pioneering experience in Hajj and Umrah, and Umm Al-Qura University's continued interest in this field.
On his part, the Dean of the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies, Dr. Ali Al-Sha`iri, indicated that Umm Al-Qura University's aim behind launching these programs is to contribute to the success of the process of advancement and progress in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 in qualifying ambitious efficient personnel to build a vibrant society, a prosperous economy, and an ambitious country, Allah willing. He noted that the university is using all its capabilities to provide the appropriate environment for male and female graduate students and the appropriate the infrastructure, in addition to the presence of a variety of academic experience represented by more than 5000 academic staff members in various disciplines.
The Postgraduate Studies Unit (Aali) at Umm Al-Qura University seeks to provide the best services in the paid postgraduate programs to serve the individual and society in accordance with the national needs and requirements of the labor market.
It is worth noting that more than 1,600 male and female students were admitted to the paid postgraduate study programs last year.
