Interns of the Umm Al-Quran University (UQU) Dentistry College have stupendously taken part in the UAE International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition AEEDC Dubai 2017 that took place at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the Dubai Health Authority. 

The college's students won the third place in the AEEDC Student competition held on the sidelines of the exhibition.

A group of the college's final year students have participated in the activities by research posters covering various areas of dental study.

The participating students included Dr. Abdurrahman Al Maleki, Dr. Mohsen Al Jabri, Dr. Feyzollah Torres, Dr. Tourki Al-Otaibi, Dr. Mansour al-Qarni and Dr. Al Anoud Al Omari.

The students have taken part in the event under supervision of academics Dr. Majed Al Maleki, Dr. Wahdan Al Kawatehy, Dr. Themer Omar, Dr. Amr Radi, Dr. Yasser Al Bouhi, Dr. Ibrahim Hamoud, Dr. Hanadi Lenguay and Dr. Yahiya Maher.

As many as five students have partaken in the AEEDC Student competition under supervision of Vice-dean of the college for academic affairs Dr. Majed Al Maleki.

The team managed to qualify for the semi finals and won the third place. The participating students are Dr. Doa'a Bazeed, Dr. Rohab Radi, Dr. Ghaydaa Al Thoubaiti, Dr. Al Hanouf Al Souhaili and Dr. Jomana Felemban.

In his comments, Dean of the College Dr. Abdel Aziz Khotani said the event boosts values of research and integration and sharpens students' skills.

Also, this is an opportunity for supporting all research initiatives to reach the pre-set goals under supervision of staff members from various areas of study, he said, praising support given by President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas.

AEEDC Dubai is the pioneering and largest dental event in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region and the second best event in the world with regard to the organization, number of visitors and participations. It draws attention of the largest medical businesses and organizations from around the world.
