Jeddah Governor Receives Publications of King Salman Chair for Study of Makkah History

Governor of Jeddah HRH Prince Mishaal Bin Majed Bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud received at his office on Thursday Jumada Al-Oula 12, 1438 H 20 books published by King Salman Chair for Study of Makkah History and the book of Makkah from the Sky, from the President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas in the presence of the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi and the Supervisor of King Salman Chair for Makkah History Studies Dr. Abdullah bin Hussein al-Sharif. Meanwhile, Dr. Assas affirmed that the university is undertaking and implementing a number of innovative cultural and scientific activities required by the community. He added that all these academic and innovative programs are in line with the Saudi vision 2030. 


On the other hand, Dr. Abdullah al-Sharif, the Supervisor of King Salman Chair for Makkah History Studies, stated that the books received by Jeddah governor were considered within the 20 books published by King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz Chair for Makkah History Studies. The 20 books included 54 published researches, 16 finished research projects besides a number of cultural activities adding that the chair has several research publications under process. He noted that the topics of the Chair’s publications covered various political, social, economic issues. Moreover, the publications included studies about historic memorials, Islamic heritage, social aspects and the historical ears of Makkah; the studies also documented the Kingdom's efforts to develop Makkah and the holy sites by providing the highest level of services to the pilgrims. He went on to add that the Chair and its publications, is one of the fruits of the keenness attached by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to history, historians and the cultural renaissance.
