UQU President: Speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Embodies the Saudi Kingdom’s Humanitarian Stance and Exceptional Leadership

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, praised the implications of the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (may Allah safeguard him), when he opened the extraordinary virtual summit of the leaders of the Group of Twenty (G20) countries. The speech played a pivotal role in developing radical solutions to face the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on mankind and the global economy.

His Excellency said that the implications of the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques sent a message to the world that the crisis can be overcome and its economic impact in light of the turmoil of the global financial markets can be surmounted. He noted the transparency that characterized His Royal Highness's speech (may Allah safeguard him) as he described the COVID-19 as a pandemic, an event that requires a global response to confront it and its effects.

Prof. Abdullah Bafail stressed that holding this extraordinary summit of the leaders of the G20 countries, headed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, embodies the keenness of the leadership of these countries on preserving human rights and achieving political, development, health and social stability for all countries in the world.

His Excellency valued the Saudi Kingdom's humanitarian role and initiatives to overcome the global crisis, which has affected most countries. The kingdom has offered incentive packages and invited the leaders of the G20 countries to back and support developing countries in order to overcome this crisis and its consequences.
