UQU President Witnesses Contract Signing by Lucidya & Qatari Company

President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas on Tuesday, Jumada al-Oola 10, 1438H, witnessed the signing of a partnership contract by and between Lucidya, a Wadi Makkah's startup, and a Qatari company that is specialized in digital data analysis.

Under the agreement, the Qatari company would be the exclusive agency for Lucidya in the Arab country. The contract is part of startups expansion plan supported by the university in light of the Saudi Vision 2030.

The ceremony was attended by Vice President for Academic Development and Community Services Dr. Hany bin Othman bin Yassin Ghazi, Chairman of Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Maher bin Saleh Jamal and Wadi Makkah CEO Dr. Faisal Ibn Ahmad Allaf. It was organized at the Startup Center in Al-Abdiyah.

Addressing the meeting, Lucidya CEO Abdullah Asiri said the company provides spacetime platforms for millions of Twitter posts giving government and private institutions the chance to make decisions in many fields including security, marketing, education, health, social and economic levels, etc.

A number of agreements were concluded in these fields with companies working in the local, Gulf and world markets, he said, saluting Dr. Assas as Chairman of Wadi Makkah for providing endless support to Wadi Makkah startups.

In the same context, CEO of the Qatari company Eng. Mohammed AlMohanadi said the partnership was a result of providing high-quality products by Lucidya in the domain of Twitter data analysis. He asserted importance of Lucidya's products for the Qatari market, adding Wadi Makkah has been known in the Gulf area for establishing various startups specialized in different fields of technology.

In the same vein, Dr. Assas said the agreement is one of many deals made with Wadi Makkah's startups, to reflect principles of the Saudi Vision 2030, which established partnerships with companies in the country, Gulf area and the world.

The university has successfully provided entrepreneurship assistance by converting scientific research and innovation results into real products and startups that take steps into industry, he said, adding the experience created attractive environment that lured local and foreign businesses.
