President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas on Tuesday Jumada Al-Oula 10, 1438 H met at his office in the university campus at Abdiya with a delegation representing the university graduates at the period from 1406 to 1436 H, including 18 scholars and preachers from nine countries in Asia and Africa. The meeting came within the scientific trip program organized by the Arabic language Institute for Non-Native Speakers in collaboration with the expatriates division at South Makkah Cooperative Office for Da'wa, Guidance and Communities Awareness and the Endowments of Saad Abdul-Aziz Al-Musa. Present in the meeting were the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Sorouji, the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi and the Dean of the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers, Dr. Hassan Bukhari.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers, Dr. Hassan Bukhari revealed that this program which is undertaken by various parties comes under the theme of " Lifetime trip to Makkah" adding that the program includes meetings with several officials in Makkah. He indicated that the visiting delegation includes 18 preachers and scholars graduated from the university at the period from 1406 to 1436 H and working currently as preachers and teachers in nine European and Asian countries.
Further, he said that the objective of this meeting is to promote values of belonging and loyalty to this blessed country that embraced them for several years during their scholarships at the various stages of university studies including post-graduation level, highlight the efforts exerted by the university with the scholarships students and effectively communicate with the graduates of the university in the various countries of the world. He lauded the support attached to the Institute by the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas thus leading it to achieve excellence in its scientific mission.
Within the same vein, the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas welcomed the members of the delegation who have become ambassadors and preachers in several European, Asian and African countries, indicating that the university represented by the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers endeavors to spread Islam and takes the pride of teaching Arabic language, and achieving quality and effective communication with other cultures to teach Arabic language and Islamic Sharia for Muslim sons and provide them with the sufficient amount of Quran in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership.
He added that the University endeavors to train specialized teachers for teaching Arabic language for Non-Native Speakers, conducts researches and field trials to develop Arabic learning methods and curricula for non-native speakers, cooperates with the Islamic organizations and establishments in the field of Arabic language teaching and spread of Islamic Da'wa besides exchanging expertise and organizing training courses for teaching Arabic language for non-native speakers in the Islamic countries. Concluding his speech, Dr. Assas lauded the efforts exerted by the Dean of the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers and all the staff of the Institute.
