The UQU Safety Department Highlights the Most Important Safety Applications in the World Civil Defense Day

Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Safety Department and the SAFE Center for Safety, Risk and Crisis Management, participated in the World Civil Defense Day under the slogan: "Safety First". Their participation came in the awareness exhibition, which highlighted safety procedures and tools and their uses at home and in public, at Makkah Mall.

The General Supervisor of the Safety Department, Eng. Muhammad Zamzami, said the exhibition showcased the capabilities of the department in applying safety instructions in its facilities. He pointed out that UQU endeavors to consolidate the concept of safety, to make preserving lives and property inside and outside the university one of the top priorities of the university affiliates. This is with the use of modern scientific programs and mechanisms which will be applied at all the university facilities.

On his part, the Dean of the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies, Dr. Ali Al-Sha`iri, said the participation of the SAFE Center came to highlight the center's role in offering a number of specialized services, including the consultancy services and research studies. It seeks to provide national and international experts to endorse the qualification, research and specialized consultation in safety, crises and risk management, which gives it a unique character in Makkah, being the first center affiliated to an official and specialized educational institution. He added that the center also offers a group of training programs approved by IOSH and IIRSM, such as: the safety management program, fire safety awareness, professional health and safety management, in addition to certified professional diplomas in this field.

It should be noted that the university pavilion was visited by a number of officials from inside and outside the university.
