The Board of Directors of the Saudi Scholarly Society for the Principles of Jurisprudence and Shari`ah Objectives (Osool) held its first meeting for the second session on Thursday, 12 Jumada Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., at the headquarters of the society at the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies in Umm Al-Qura University. The meeting was attended by the chairman and all the members of the board.
The meeting discussed printing a number of distinctive scientific theses in the field of the principles of jurisprudence and Shari`ah objectives. It also discussed holding a scientific session for one week in "Jurisprudence Applications" at the Holy Mosque of Mecca, in cooperation with the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques. This is in addition to holding a scientific day in the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies during which scientific papers and research projects will be submitted by the college students in relation to the book entitled, "Al-Risala" by Imam Shafi`i (may Allah have mercy on him).
It is worth mentioning that the Board of Directors of the Osool Society, approved by His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, last month, continues holding meetings and partnerships in order to enrich the content of the Shari`ah objectives with interactive workshops. The Board of Directors also keeps on urging the researchers to make use of smart technologies and applications in promoting the concepts of the principles of jurisprudence.
