College of Health Sciences in Al-Leith Signs a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation with the Directorate of Health Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah

On Tuesday, 10 Jumada Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., a delegate from the College of Health Sciences in Al-Leith visited the Directorate of Health Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah. This visit came within the framework of mutual cooperation between Umm Al-Qura University and the Directorate of Health Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah governorate. Moreover, it reflected the keenness of the College of Health Sciences in Al-Leith to promote relations and hold societal partnerships with the different training centers, as the university is considered to be a scientific institution and a cognitive beacon in the academic field and in offering research, consultations and training according to the potentials it has. Furthermore, this visit reflected the keenness of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah to promote the contribution of the College of Health Sciences in Al-Leith in health development, according to Saudi Vision 2030 for offering health services.

The delegation was headed by his Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Tariq bin Abdullah Zhafar. This meeting was attended by his Excellency the Vice Dean of the College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad bin Salim bin Mahfuz, and his Excellency the Vice Dean of the College for Hospital and Training Affairs, Dr. Muhannad bin Salah Kilkitawi to sign the memorandum of understanding between the two parties.

They talked with his Excellency Dr. Ahmad Al-Umari, the Director of Health Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah governorate, about scientific research and the promotion of mutual cooperation in the field of training and learning. They discussed increasing training positions for the students of Al-Leith College of Health Sciences at hospitals and health centers in the governorate. They also discussed the need for nursing specialization in the region and  cooperation in increasing the number of the required jobs in nursing to overcome the shortage in the field of nursing in the future.

At the end of the visit, they signed a memorandum of understanding, in which Umm Al-Qura University was represented by His Excellency the Dean of the College of Health Sciences in Al-Leith, Dr. Tariq bin Abdullah Zhafar, while the Directorate of Health Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah was represented by its director, His Excellency Dr. Ahmad bin Madini Al-Umari.
