UQU President Discusses Aspects of Cooperation with the Senegalese Universities and the Scholarship Students

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, received the Consul General of the Republic of Senegal, Dr. Abu Bakr Saro, and the accompanying delegation. Present at the meeting were: the Supervisor of the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Babalghaith, the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Abdul-Wahhab Al-Resini, and the Dean of the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, Dr. Hasan Bukhari.

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University welcomed the opportunities of cooperation with the Senegalese universities, stressing that the university will provide support in this regard with knowledge competencies and scientific curricula. He referred to the importance of promoting knowledge and exchanging educational experience with all sectors.

On his part, the Consul General of Senegal expressed his thanks for the efforts provided by the Saudi Kingdom in teaching the students of the Muslim world the correct balanced methodology and the moderate Islamic thought. He then expressed his desire to increase fields of scientific and development cooperation.

Moreover, he spoke about his visit to the ‘Cultures of Peoples’ festival organized by the university during the last semester, and appreciated the efforts provided by the university for the scholarship students. He referred to the importance of this in opening up the gates of knowledge, in understanding the cultures of different peoples and increasing harmony between them, and also in supporting Islamic cohesion and unity.
