Next Tuesday, Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, in cooperation with the Saudi Scientific Association of Arabic Calligraphy, will launch the "Umm Al-Qura Contest for Arabic Calligraphy" ceremony and exhibition for students of Saudi universities, under the patronage of His Excellency UQU President Prof. Abdullah Bafail, in King Abdul-Aziz Support Hall in Al-Abdiyyah.
His Excellency the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Omar Sunbul, stressed the importance of the contest for reviving the culture of Arabic calligraphy among the educational community, discovering distinguished student talent in Saudi universities, and refining their skills and abilities to master the art of Arabic calligraphy.
It is worth noting that the contest represents the first type of cooperation between the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Saudi Scientific Association of Arabic Calligraphy. Financial prizes estimated at more than 30 thousand riyals have been allocated for this contest, to be granted to the winners according to the technical criteria decided by the jury.
