UQU Wins Nine Initiatives to Achieve the Saudi Vision 2030

The University of Umm Al-Qura announced winning nine out of 39 initiatives it has submitted to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030 as the first Saudi university to realize such achievement with a financial backing worth up to SR. 40 million. This came during a meeting held at the office of the UQU President  on Sunday Rabie Al-Thani 17, 1438 H led by the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas  and was attended by team of the university initiatives 2030 including the UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Prof. Abdul-Aziz Al-Sorouji, the UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, Deans of the Support Deanships and the strategic experts of the university.  


Meanwhile, UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi lauded the efforts exerted by UQU Initiative Team that led the university to win nine initiatives at multiple domains, pointing out that the team has submitted various initiatives which will contribute to serving the university community and the Makkah community in general. He also lauded the role of the university strategic experts and their efforts exerted to follow up the 54 initiatives and merge them into 39 distinguished initiatives. These initiatives, he added, were presented before the economic council in a workshop held recently in Riyadh during which nine of them were approved and  30 were left over to be added to two extra initiatives and submitted later again to the Ministry of Finance. Further, he praised support and care of the UQU President and his lasting keenness to see the university distinctive in all its participations and programs set to achieve the Kingdom Vision 2030, adding that the initiatives will be launched after getting acquainted with the implementation mechanism during  workshops to be organized by the Ministry of Education.

     

 On his part, the UQU President congratulated the university initiative team for winning nine initiatives to achieve the Kingdom Vision 2030. He added that such a thing comes as no surprise as Umm Al-Qura University  received and still boundless support of the government of the  Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the close follow-up of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of Makkah Prince Khalid Al-Faisal enabling it to make several achievements in various fields, underscoring that the university has a distinctive academic staff in various fields and he wished success for all to serve such lofty academic edifice.
