The Institute of Consulting Research and Studies at Umm Al-Qura University participated in organizing a meeting yesterday, entitled: ‘Career and Consulting Offices Development’. The meeting was held in partnership with the Consultation Offices Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Makkah as well as the National Committee of Advisory Offices of the Saudi Council of Chambers, in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the President of Umm Al-Qura University.
The Dean of the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Ali Al-Sha`iri, stressed that the market in the consulting field is promising, rich, and fertile, and is regarded an important tributary of development that should be promoted. He called on universities to set up qualifying programs for their students wishing to enter the consultation business, facilitate the difficulties they may face, and prepare them professionally to contribute to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030.
The meeting witnessed many beneficial contributions in light of the participation of a group of advisers, representatives of consultative offices, and experts from the public and private sectors, as well as a large number of male and female students.
Attendees also discussed concepts of consulting professions and offices, and their importance for the business sector. Moreover, they reviewed the available opportunities, based on the ministerial order for government agencies to enter into contracts with Saudi consulting offices as well as the goals of the consulting offices in light of the Saudi Vision 2030.
