His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, today (Monday) in his office, honored thirteen academic staff members, who were promoted in the sessions of the Academic Council during the academic year 1441 A.H., for their remarkable academic and research achievements. The honoring ceremony was attended by the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Abdul-Wahhab Al-Resini.

During the honoring ceremony, His Excellency the UQU President congratulated the academic staff members promoted in the Academic Council sessions on the fruits of their continuous research efforts, and their scientific and academic contributions to the university. He urged them to perceive these promotions as a boost to their research careers, stressing the importance of scientific research and the important role it plays in the advancement of science and the enlightenment of the society.

On his part, Prof. Al-Resini underlined that the Secretariat of the Scientific Council is always striving to support and honor the researchers and academics of Umm Al-Qura University, with a view to celebrating the refined status of knowledge and the honor of its seekers. He pointed out that their pioneering aspirations, academically and research-wise, enable the university achieve cognitive excellence at the local and international levels.

The following is the list of the promoted academic staff members:

1. Dr. Wasil bin Abdullah Rashad Jistiniah, Associate Professor at the Department of Pediatrics in the College of Medicine, who was promoted to professor.
2. Dr. Adel bin Omar Bahathiq, Associate Professor at the Department of Physiology in the College of Medicine, who was promoted to professor.
3. Dr. Basim bin Yusuf bin Muhammad Ali Al-Kazhimi, Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science in the College of Computer and Information Systems, who was promoted to professor.
4. Dr. Sami Hijazi Mustafa Al-Tum, Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics in Al-Qunfudhah University College, who was promoted to professor.
5. Dr. Saleh bin Ali Faraj Al-Uqla, Assistant Professor at the Department of Accounting in the College of Business Administration, who was promoted to associate professor.
6. Dr. Muhammad Abdi Adan, Assistant Professor at the Department of Administrative and Financial Sciences in the Makkah Community College, who was promoted to associate professor.
7. Dr. Tariq bin Muhammad Ali Al-Uqala, Assistant Professor at the Department of Administrative and Humanitarian Research in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, who was promoted to associate professor.
8. Dr. Bilal Muhammad Ahmad Bataynah, Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science in the Deanship of the Joint First Year, who was promoted to associate professor.
9. Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Hasan Al-Sha`iri, Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, who was promoted to associate professor.
10. Dr. Abdullah bin Hamid Sembo Kambigo, Assistant Professor at the Department of the Qur'an and Sunnah in the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion, who was promoted to associate professor.
11. Dr. Muhammad Mathri Ayed Al-Hawaiti, Assistant Professor at the Department of Special Education in the College of Education, who was promoted to associate professor.
12. Dr. Sami bin Sadaqah bin Abdul-Wahid Ashqar, Assistant Professor at the Department of Microorganisms in the College of Medicine, who was promoted to associate professor.
13. Dr. Amir Mustafa Muhammad Al-Baqluti, Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics Skills in the Joint First Year Deanship, who was promoted to associate professor.
