UQU's Makkah TechnoValley Achieves Goals of Saudi Vision 2030

In light of the heated efforts exerted by several sectors and universities to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), represented by Makkah TechnoValley (Wadi Makkah), led the outrigger to turn its blessed objectives into a reality.

The university managed to actualize its ideas for the entrepreneurship support. It put its scientific researches and innovation in real technical products.

Also, it helped startups to break into the market with contracts and agreements for selling these products to the public and private sector agencies.

The company has successfully created jobs that fit the citizens when it provided more than 100,000 opportunities for work in technical and administrative domains.

The university created an attractive environment for domestic and foreign investments by boosting businessman's confidence in the Saudi economy. It lured new businesses to invest in Wadi Makkah startups from inside and outside the kingdom.

Out of its keenness to play a key role in serving pilgrims using high-tech services produced by the TechnoValley, the university has launched a number of smart gadgets and platforms in the Holy Mosque in Makkah and sacred places. For example: a platform for navigation in the Holy Mosque of Makkah in addition to the pilgrims bus tracking system were made available out of real commitment to develop and expand smart applications services.

In order to enhance its leading role in educating citizens and sharpening their skills in order to adapt to the future requirements of the labor markets, the UQU's Center of Startups in the TechnoValley has launched a summer training program that covers a number of domains to meet the labor market needs.

The training programs included programming, designing, modeling, marketing and business development courses. Up to 66 trainees from different universities attended the courses.

President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) and Chairman of Wadi Makkah Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas asserted that the university would spare no efforts to meet the aspirations of the kingdom leaders for the Saudi Vision 2030.

He extends thanks to the King of Saudi Arabia for his keen attention and care for education process in the country.
